Top 5 Communication Apps on Android in Germany Q4 2023

In Q4 2023, the performance of the top communication apps on the Android platform in Germany exhibited distinct trends in weekly downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger saw a significant rise in weekly downloads, starting from around 90K in late September and peaking at approximately 149K by the end of December. Active users also showed a gradual increase from 32.9M to over 33.2M during the same period.

Telegram experienced steady weekly downloads, fluctuating between 54K and 96K. The number of active users remained relatively stable, starting at 3.6M and ending the quarter at around 3.5M. Weekly revenue for Telegram remained low, hovering around $30 to $70.

Snapchat demonstrated a notable increase in weekly downloads, growing from 47K to nearly 80K by the end of December. Active users rose from 5.2M to over 5.3M, and weekly revenue showed an upward trend, starting at around $15K and reaching approximately $20K by the end of December.

Messenger had consistent weekly downloads, starting at 43K and peaking at about 62K. Active users saw a slight decline from 10M to around 9.7M throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue ranged from $1.2K to $1.7K, showing minor fluctuations.

WhatsApp Business experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, beginning at around 28K and reaching approximately 35K by the end of December. Active users grew from 751K to over 810K during the quarter.
